Glastonbury’s Birth records date back to 1693. Per state statute, all Birth records 100 years old and older are open to the public. Birth Records less than 100 years old are restricted access records. Certified copies of short form birth certificates (wallet) are currently $5.00 per copy and long form birth certificates are $10.00 per copy. Effective October 1, 2009 these fees will be increasing to $15.00 for the short form and $20.00 for the long form.
Birth certificates are on file for anyone born in Glastonbury, or anyone whose mother resided in Glastonbury at the time of his or her birth. Photo identification must be presented when request is made. If request is made by mail, a copy of the applicant’s photo identification must be attached. You may request a birth certificate for yourself, your child, grandchild, parent, grandparent or spouse. No one may examine confidential files without a court order.
