Q: How can I obtain a car seat installation appointment?
A:
We are currently not taking appointments for car seat inspections.
Q: How can I obtain a pistol permit?
A:
Residents may come to the police department in person to pick up the pistol permit application forms or access them on line by going to the Police Department section of the web site and then click on forms. Once the application form is completed it must be returned in person to the police department so the application can be processed. Frequently asked questions concerning pistol permits can be found on the Connecticut Department of Public Safety web site at www.ct.gov/dps
Q: How can I obtain a copy of a Police Report?
A:
A copy of a police report must be obtained in person by coming down to the police department at 2108 Main Street. Records can be obtained Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. when the records division is open. If you are unable to come in during this time frame you may contact the Records Division at 860-652-4227 and make other arrangements.
Q: How can I contest a Parking Ticket?
A:
A citizen can either come down to the police department and complete a parking tag protest form and drop it off for the Traffic Sergeant to review or they can print out a copy of the parking tag protest form on line, complete the form and drop it off at the police department for review by the Traffic Sergeant. The form can’t be submitted electronically because it requires a diagram be drawn on the back of the form. If you have the ability to scan in the form (to include the diagram) the form can then be submitted electronically to the Traffic Sergeant.  Questions concerning the parking tag protest form can be directed to the Traffic Sergeant at 860-652-4254 or at mark.catania@glastonbury-ct.gov
Q: How can I request Selective Police Enforcement?
A:
If a resident or a business owner has a request for the traffic unit to conduct selective police enforcement in a particular area of town they can either contact the Traffic Sergeant at 860-652-4254 or e-mail at mark.catania@glastonbury-ct.gov.
Q: Vacant House forms and procedures.
A:
A town resident may access the vacant house form on-line, complete the form, print it out, and drop it off at the police department if they are planning to be away for any amount of time. The completed card should contain the required information of how the police department can contact the homeowner while they are away. While extra attention to the residence is not guaranteed it allows officers to be aware of vacant houses in the area if they are dealing with suspicious incidents in that neighborhood. The homeowner needs to contact the police department when they return home so the card can be pulled from the file. Click her for the Vacant House Form.
